The AELIOS project is focused on designing a robust and sustainable Alkaline Electrolyser with improved efficiency, capable of operating
flexibly in conjunction with renewable energy sources, while also lowering both CAPEX and OPEX. To reach this goal, the project
will address multiple key areas: the development of advanced materials for the stack and balance of plant (BoP) components, the
implementation of innovative operational strategies, the creation of new lifetime modelling tools, the definition of accelerated ageing
and degradation testing protocols, and the investigation on the sustainability, circularity and recyclability of the innovative materials and
components.
