Success Stories and Partnerships

The Hub actively collaborates with external stakeholders, and other sister projects building on successful partnerships in the past. New initiatives and collaborations are continuously encouraged!

Current participating projects include:

  • i-STENTORE:
i-STENTORE explores hybrid and standalone energy storage solutions, enhancing grid stability and asset efficiency. The project focuses on integrating storage technologies with innovative frameworks to optimise reliability and cost-effectiveness. These systems will provide services that transform storage into active components of the energy grid.
  • WeForming:
WeForming is revolutionising energy management by transforming buildings into Intelligent Grid-Forming Buildings (iGFBs), this is, active participants in managing the energy grid. The project’s objective is to empower end users to take a central role in optimising energy consumption. It features six demo sites in Spain, Portugal, Germany, Croatia, Belgium and Luxembourg.
  • DigiWind:
DigiWind advances Europe’s green and digital transition by equipping STEM professionals in the wind and energy sectors with digital skills. It offers specialised training in High-Performance Computing (HPC), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Cybersecurity. The project addresses skill gaps crucial for the future of energy systems.
  • TWAIN:
TWAIN ensures reliable and cost-effective wind power plant operation by leveraging AI and digitalisation. The project prioritises system stability, decarbonisation, and efficient wind farm asset management. It drives the integration of wind technologies into future energy systems.
  • HEDGE-IoT:
HEDGE-IoT develops a framework to deploy IoT assets across energy systems, enhancing grid resilience and flexibility. By combining AI and federated computing, it enables interoperable, scalable energy services. The project promotes IoT standardisation and optimises renewable energy hosting capacity.
  • EXIGENCE:
EXIGENCE reduces ICT energy consumption by creating metrics for service delivery efficiency and participating in 6G standardisation. The project develops architecture for energy metering at tenant levels and fosters energy efficiency with incentive-compatible mechanisms. It aims to cut energy use by up to five times for demanding services.
  • SNUG:
SNUG is reshaping the construction sector with a focus on sustainability, aiming to minimise the carbon footprint of buildings and maximise their energy efficiency, enabling a greener future for communities. Through a groundbreaking methodology rooted in circular economy principles and artificial intelligence, it aims to accelerate the transition to Zero-Energy Buildings (ZEBs).
  • INFERNO:
INFERNO converts industrial waste heat into electricity using cutting-edge thermophotovoltaics, metasurface collectors, and thermoelectric generators. Its modular system is designed for easy integration into industrial processes. Three pilot demonstrations in France, Germany, and Ireland will showcase its potential to cut emissions.

F6S helps five million founders and companies grow to power the energy transition.
